Welcome to Volunteering EH!, a site designed to help strengthen newcomer youth volunteerism. Volunteers are the heart of our communities in Ontario. Volunteers support the arts, local sports clubs, medical research, food banks, shelters, the environment, education, ethno cultural organizations, local and international relief efforts, our places of worship, as well as neighbours, friends and family.

Message from the Minister

I extend warm greetings to everyone attending the Immigrant Youth Volunteerism Event, hosted by the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre.

I applaud this initiative to engage newcomer youth in volunteering, and am pleased my ministry is able to support you in this endeavour. A special thanks to the young people who helped shape this project to identify the barriers and opportunities newcomer youth face in volunteering.

Congratulations on your new website, Volunteering Eh, the play, the documentary and the toolkit you are launching. All are valuable resources in helping us strengthen our proud volunteer tradition.

As the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, I am honoured to be in a position to promote volunteer service and the non-profit sector, and their important contributions to our province.

Best wishes for this event and for the future.
Yours truly,

Minister Chan
